Global Changer will motivate students and help them develop the competencies they need to be the game changers of tomorrow. Â
This lively English course is aligned with the competencies of the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) and is specially designed to help teen students to be an agent of change from an attentive, careful and optimistic look, as it encourages them to embrace diversity and necessary conversations among the entire school community. Â
With its fresh and fun approach to global real world-topics, Global Changer helps teachers prepare stimulating and easy-to-teach lessons that will ensure students are motivated and engaged throughout the whole school year.
Also, Cambridge University Press has established a partnership with Instituto Ayrton Senna, one of the largest not-for-profit organizations in Brazil, and which has received the seal of approval for the creation of the UNESCO Chair in Education and Human Development for the projects and initiatives developed since 1994 in favor of Education.

Scaffolded activities
Every unit in Global Changer takes the student on a carefully staged journey. Students are gradually introduced to the topic and target language through a variety of scaffolded activities that build their confidence as they progress. Language is presented in context via a rich variety of real-world topics and each unit culminates in a creative writing or speaking task.
Content focused on cultural, global and real topics that develop 21st century skills
Global Changer units are structured in a way that always contemplate texts on broad cultural themes, cross-curricular themes and linguistic content presented in real contexts.Thus, students are exposed to people and places from all over the world, and ask questions that encourage them to think about the differences between their culture and other cultures, as well as explore international values, preparing them even more for their future as global citizens.

Grammar and vocabulary are presented in a clear and contextualized way through dynamic “reading” and “listening” exercises in a wide variety of textual genres. Combining this with a fresh and fun approach to relevant and authentic topics, students see the purpose of their learning and feel motivated to explore and use the language.
Students prepared for life in a diverse and multicultural environment
Global Changer explores a variety of global themes in the double-page “Around the World” section, present in all units. This helps students broaden their understanding of other people, places and cultures, preparing them for life in a diverse and multicultural environment.Â
Students with critical thinking skills
We often “read” images before we read words. This happens every day with what we see on television, advertisements, internet memes, emoji or other media. By encouraging different responses to visual stimuli, we can help students critically analyze and interpret what they see and develop a deeper understanding of topics. The “Think!” questions at unit openings and throughout each unit encourage students to think beyond the photo or topic and articulate their opinions, developing their critical thinking skills.
